“Long Term Relationships” Tip From William Taylor, Career Development Officer at MintResume

The best tip for all new business owners would be to understand that the long term relationships you build are far more important than the quick money. I know a number of companies who put short term profit before what makes sense in the long run for their business. As a result, they lose sight of their ultimate goal. And, instead of focusing on developing a relationship with the customers, they endeavor to sell their products in the very first interaction. This is not going to work, not anymore, as customers today are inundated with options. They’ll prefer doing business with someone who understands them and their needs and who’s willing to go an extra mile to satisfy their needs. So, I’d strongly recommend new business owners to develop a relationship based on goodwill and trust with your consumers BEFORE you sell to them. This is the only way you can offer personalized services which the modern-day consumers demand and deserve.

Bottom Line: Focus on building long-term relationships with customers before you start selling to them.
